A modern factory possesses with efficient movement of material through its various systems. Formosa Heavy Industrial Group and IBM built our Automated Storage / Retrieval System (AS/RS) and automatic production conveyor system. This facility can automate the storage and retrieval function and consists of 21,500 units for parts storage and 1,052 pallets for finish goods (roughly about 33?40' containers). It receives and stores incoming goods, and then it picks goods from storage, organized them into orders and prepares them to be shipped to customers.
The AS/RS is interlinked materials with assembly lines and automated packaging lines. Just one push to the button, the materials are automatically delivered to the workstation once the material are almost used up. This efficient automatic operation has doubled our output capacity, allowing us to maintain our annual growth rate as we move to the future.
